iti’s products are produced with a unique “air drying” process that provides the benefits of unprocessed raw food, with high levels of natural enzymes, without the food safety concerns and the “yuck factor” of handling raw frozen diets.
Let us explain…
iti Biti and iti Kiti start out as raw meat, organs and seafood. At this stage, the raw ingredients contain around 75% moisture. We add essential vitamins & minerals to the meat then mix it all up.
We then place the raw meat on trays which go into a dehydrator where warm air is gently blown over the product to slowly remove the water from the meat. The temperature is very low to ensure we do not cook the natural goodness from the meat.
After 10 hours in the dehydrator, approximately 60% of the moisture is removed. iti is now transformed from raw meat into a concentrated (3 times the amount of protein on a dry matter basis), highly digestible & convenient source of protein.
This process has been used for centuries to naturally preserve meat without the need for artificial preservatives, extreme heat nor refrigeration.
iti may appear more expensive than raw pet food, but in fact you are no longer paying for so much water and, because it’s more concentrated, you don’t need to feed your pet as much to get the same nutritional benefit & yum factor!
Best of all, because we’re removed most of the raw meats moisture, it’s now shelf stable so way easier for you to handle, store and feed.

IS ITI A NATURAL PRODUCT?
iti is absolutely natural with all natural ingredients only.
iti is GMO free, grain free, animal meal free, artificial color & preservative free, and free range. All of the frees you’d like, and none that you wouldn’t.

SHOULD I FEED ITI AS A FOOD OR A TREAT?
iti Biti & iti Kiti may be fed as a complete meal. Both diets are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by AAFCO Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, except for growth of large sized dogs – 70 lbs or more as an adult. (Remember iti means “small”, not large!).
Alternatively you may choose to feed both diets as a topper to enhance the palatability & enjoyment of kibble for your pet. Your pet would like nothing more than a Bit of iti meat with that wheat.
iti Treats are to be fed simply as treats.

HOW DO YOU FEED ITI?
Easy. iti biti & iti Kiti is ready to feed straight from the pouch.
- No need to add water to the food – but do ensure your pet always has access to drinking water.
- No need to cook it.
- No need to deep-fry it.
- No need to microwave it.

HOW DO YOU STORE ITI?
Just store in a cool dry place. Each pouch should be used within 10 days of opening.
iti should also be stored it in the refrigerator to prolong the shelf life once opened.
Remember, iti is a true, natural meat product without artificial preservatives.
iti air-dried food has a shelf life of 24 months from manufacture provided it’s unopened. Once opened, a pouch should be used and refrigerated within 10 days.

WHERE IS ITI MADE?
iti is exclusively made in New Zealand. The dehydrated food and treats are made in our very own factory located in Tauranga, New Zealand. The cans are made in a cannery in Gisborne, New Zealand. Both factories are licensed by the Ministry of Primary Industries and operate under comprehensive food safety programs. The iti brand was created by, and remains 100% owned by, Alpine Export NZ Limited, a privately owned family business.

HOW MUCH iti SHOULD I FEED?

Air drying removes excess moisture, creating a highly concentrated food. This makes iti purfect for small dogs, as they need a much higher calorie intake relative to their body weight than larger dogs, but have a much smaller tummy to fit it in.
Because of iti’s high energy content, when feeding iti Biti and iti Kiti, you only need to use a small amount in comparison to less concentrated dry kibble or canned pet foods. This is better for your pet if they need a lot of energy but only have a small tummy to fit iti in!
Calculate what your small dogs daily calorie needs are using this simple formula: 30x (pet weight in kg) +70.
